Does Auburn play today? College football schedule for Tigers' next game after Week 11
The Auburn Tigers have had a rather underwhelming season until now. Hugh Freeze's team could miss out on a bowl game and need to finish the season with a flourish.
On that note, fans have been curious to know whether Auburn will play later today.
Does Auburn play today in Week 11?
The Auburn Tigers (3-6, 1-5 in Southeastern Conference) will not play later today since they have an off in Week 11. This is their final open week in the regular season.
The Tigers will resume action in Week 12 when they host ULM at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Nov. 16. They will then be on the road for their two remaining regular season games against No. 15 Texas A&M (7-2, 5-1 SEC) and No. 11 Alabama (6-2, 3-2 SEC).
Here's a look at Auburn's schedule for the remainder of the 2024 college football season:
- Nov. 9: OFF
- Nov. 16: vs. ULM
- Nov. 23: at Texas A&M
- Nov. 30: at Alabama
The Tigers need to win all of their three regular-season games to qualify for a bowl game. While they can get a victory over fellow strugglers ULM, the clashes against Texas A&M and Alabama will be much bigger challenges since both teams are aiming for berths in the College Football Playoff.
Following Auburn's Week 10 defeat against Vanderbilt, reports claimed that Freeze might consider changing his starting quarterback for the remainder of the season.
While signal-caller Payton Thorne has been leading the Tigers' offense for most of the season, he has been rather inconsistent. Thorne has completed 134 of 213 passes for 1,825 yards and thrown 18 touchdowns, with seven interceptions.
The Tigers have Hank Brown as Thorne's backup. His only start this season came against New Mexico on Sept. 14, and he led Auburn to a 45-19 victory while throwing for 235 yards on 17 passes with four touchdowns.
Auburn might also consider giving third-choice quarterback Walker White some more playing time.
