"Don't allow the foolishness to detour you": Deion Sanders bids adieu to Colorado RB with soulful advice
Deion Sanders took to X to see off his outgoing running back Alton McCaskill with some words of advice. This comes as McCaskill became the 14th Colorado player to enter the transfer portal since the window opened.
On Wednesday, the running back posted a statement on the social media platform thanking "Coach Prime" and others involved with the Colorado Buffaloes program for giving him the opportunity. In another tweet, he confirmed that it was his decision to enter the portal and he wasn't influenced by anyone to do so:
“My time at the University of Colorado was great and filled with plentiful opportunities. Also with the most talented players and the most insightful coaches. Thank you so much to Coach Prime and Coach Flea, for giving me this opportunity. And to fans for support."
The Colorado Buffaloes head coach commented on his post, giving him some advice:
“All good man and soar like u desire to and don't allow the foolishness of life to detour u. You have a gift, unwrap it and exercise it. Mama-neem depending on u man. Go Get it and keep GOD 1st."
Alton McCaskill had transferred from Houston last year to come and play in Boulder. But his 2023 season was plagued with injuries, affording him just four appearances where he carried the ball a total of 14 times and gained 59 yards for the team.
