"Don't scare me like that": Drew Allar's fans skip a beat as Penn State QB pens down long note

Penn State quarterback Drew Allar posted a letter to his X account on Monday. The letter, in a style reminiscent of the farewell letters many college athletes post shortly before declaring for the draft, caught many by surprise, with many thinking the quarterback was leaving College State, Pennsylvania.

Nonetheless, Drew Allar wants to continue playing for the Nittany Lions and is focused on the upcoming matches of the College Football Playoff.

Fans were alarmed at the impression the letter left.

"Don’t scare me like that. Drew."
"Am I the only one that doesn’t read this as an “I’ll be back” message and more of a “I’m focused on the CFP playoffs right now” message?"
"Is this him saying he’s coming back for another year cuz it’s worded kinda odd"
"Doesn’t say once he is coming back, all he said is I’m having a lot of fun. Where does he say he’s coming back?"

In reality, the content of the letter could be taken to mean he's staying or leaving Penn State.
