Donovan Edwards injury: Michigan RB leaves 'The Game' vs. Ohio State after second quarter run

We already saw one player go down with an injury in Ohio State quarterback Will Howard, but Michigan Wolverines running back Donovan Edwards also got hurt in the second quarter of "The Game" against the No. 2-ranked Buckeyes.

While running towards the sideline in the final offensive drive of the first half, Edwards went down and was rolled up between a few Buckeyes defenders and left the game. Before suffering the injury, Edwards had four rushing attempts for 11 yards as well as a pair of catches for two yards.

Fox's Jenny Taft reported that Edwards is officially listed as questionable to return. Heading into this game, he had 124 rushing attempts for 578 yards (4.7 yards per carry) with four rushing touchdowns and 16 catches for 81 yards (5.1 yards per reception) with a TD reception.

Where will Donovan Edwards be selected in the 2025 NFL draft?

Donovan Edwards is a senior and will likely enter the 2025 NFL draft instead of being a fifth-year senior next season. He is going to be an interesting player for the draft class as he has showcased his skills on the field, but teams are likely going to rank him lower than a handful of RBs in the class.

There are players ahead of him like Boise State's Ashton Jeanty, North Carolina's Omarion Hampton and his teammates Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson, among others. That is going to push Edwards down the order and likely make him a Day 3 draft selection.

The Michigan Wolverines can step up but if Edwards can return to the game, it will be a big chance for him to further show his abilities. Having four years of college football experience but not having more than 140 carries or hitting the 1,000 rushing-yard mark, it will be interesting to see how he is viewed by NFL decision-makers. Expect to see Donovan Edwards selected in the sixth or seventh round of the 2025 NFL draft.
