EA College Football 25 ratings: Travis Hunter, Ryan Williams and more get a boost after Week 5

EA College Football 25 released its first major player ratings update with the college football season entering Week 6. Since this was the first iteration of the game series in over a decade, it was not clear how often EA would release player rating updates.

With the release of this update, several players received significant rating boosts. Some, like two-way player Travis Hunter, were already ranked highly but still received boosts. Others, like running back Kaleb Johnson, have had big breakout seasons and, as a result, had huge ratings boosts.

EA College Football 25 player rating boosts

Travis Hunter, the two-way star for the Colorado Buffaloes, already had a 95 overall rating going into the season. Now that Hunter has established himself as one of the leading Heisman Trophy contenders, his rating was numbed up by two points to 97.

After Alabama's close win over Georgia this week, it was interesting to see which players received rating boosts. There were only a few players who received increased ratings, with most staying where they were.

Linebacker Jihaad Campbell received a four-point boost to bring his overall rating to 89, and wide receiver Ryan Williams had his overall rating boosted by one point to 82.

Two players received double-digit point boosts from their original EA College Football 25 ratings in this week's update. Buffalo's Marquis Cooper had his rating boosted by 27 points to an 80 overall. The junior cornerback already has 31 total tackles, including 23 solo efforts, and an interception he returned 100 yards for a TD.

Iowa running back Kaleb Johnson received a 13-point rating increase to bring his overall to 87 in EA College Football 25. Johnson has more than doubled his average yards per carry this season compared to last year with 8.4.

So far this season he has 82 carries for 685 yards and nine touchdowns. He has helped the Hawkeyes reach a 3-1 record to start the season, only losing 20-19 to No. 16 Iowa State in week 2.
