Eagles legend Jason Kelce makes huge announcement in favor of Penn State fans for Week 10 blockbuster

Jason Kelce will travel to Happy Valley for the No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions' home game against the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday, he announced on his podcast, "New Heights," with his brother Travis Kelce, on Friday. The former Philadelphia Eagles center will be part of ESPN's "College GameDay" broadcast, attempting to kick a field goal while wearing Timberland boots.

The appearance will come after Kelce criticized kickers on his podcast while talking with former NFL punter Pat McAfee and accepting the challenge of trying a field goal.

The Penn State football account posted a clip on X of the Eagles legend's announcement.

"We have a big announcement," Kelce said. "I'm officially going to Happy Valley. That's right. Penn State this week."

The former center said this would be his first time at Penn State.

"I've gone fly fishing in the area but never been to State College," Kelce said.

Jason Kelce shares strategy ahead of his Week 10 'College GameDay' field-goal attempt

Although Jason Kelce said he's happy to make the trip for the Week 10 Big Ten showdown between Ohio State (6-1, 3-1 Big Ten) and Penn State (7-0, 4-0), he said he's worried about trying to kick the field goal before the game.

The retired NFL star acknowledged that he is unsure if he can successfully make a field goal without injuring himself. Kelce talked about how a fan tore an ACL on Saturday while warming up for a field-goal try on "College GameDay." After watching the clip with his brother, Kelce said that he'll take a different approach.

"I think the only way chance I'm making it in Timbs is going straight on. I don't think I can do this arch-style," Kelce said.

He also said that he's considering alternative options if he can't kick the field goal successfully with boots on.

"Maybe if I miss it, maybe I'll take the Timbs off and go barefoot and see if I can go soccer style," Kelce said.

Travis Kelce responded by warning his brother to reconsider going barefoot because he could break a toe. Regardless, the Eagles legend plans to enjoy his visit to Penn State and hopes to walk away without any injuries.
