Boise State's Ashton Jeanty shines with unanimous honors
Running back Ashton Jeanty earned unanimous honors, while Colorado’s Travis Hunter made waves by securing two spots on The Associated Press midseason All-America team.
The SEC claimed four of the five offensive line positions, and 10 preseason All-America first-team players kept their places mid-season. Nine SEC and six Big Ten players made the list, chosen by media members who voted in the AP Top 25 poll.
Jeanty has been unstoppable, rushing for over 200 yards in three of six games, averaging a nation-best 208 yards per game and 9.9 per carry. His 17 rushing touchdowns are the most in the country, and with 1,248 total rushing yards, only 25 teams have more than him this season. This is the highest six-game total since Garrett Wolfe's 1,343 yards in 2006.
Travis Hunter is a true standout, playing offense, defense, and special teams, with a staggering 147 snaps in one game. As Colorado’s top receiver, he has 46 catches for 587 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, he has two interceptions, three pass breakups, and even forced a fumble in overtime to clinch a win.
