He began his list by naming Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray, who played for Allen High School before playing in college for Texas A&M and Oklahoma. The second quarterback on his list was Matthew Stafford, who played for Highland Park High School in Texas, after which spent his entire college career with Georgia, before becoming the No.1 overall pick in the 2009 draft.

Next up was Garet Gilbert, who played for the same high school as Baker Mayfield, Lake Travis High School.

Mayfield then closed out his list by naming Texas A&M QB legend Johhny Manziel who hailed from Tivy High School and Riley Dodge, who is now the head coach of Carroll High School, the same place where he played.

Baker Mayfield's college career and statistics

Mayfield began his college journey as a walk-on true freshman for the Texas Tech Red Raiders in 2013. He was named as the starting quarterback after projected QB1 Michael Brewer suffered an injury. However, he played in just eight games cause of a knee injury, recording a total of 2,315 passing yards, 12 TD passes and nine interceptions.

Mayfield then transferred to Oklahoma in 2014 but missed out that season because of the Big 12's transfer rules. He then went on to become the starting quarterback of the Sooners for the next three seasons, three-peating the Big 12 title with the program and also winning the Heisman Trophy in 2017. He was also named the AP College Football Player of the Year the same year.

During his three-season stint with the Sooners, Baker Mayfield recorded a total of 12,292 passing yards and 119 touchdown passes before transitioning into the NFL. Despite all his collegiate achievements, he failed to add a national championship title to his name.
