Georgia vs. Texas: Box score, stats and summary feat. Trevor Etienne (Week 8)

The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs went into DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium and completely controlled the game against the No. 1 Texas Longhorns, winning 30-15. This game is going to have some significant shakeups in the AP Poll and neither offense did exceedingly well, outside of Bulldogs running back Trevor Etienne.

The Bulldogs (6-1, 4-1 SEC) are still in the hunt for an SEC Championship Game berth and should be able to dominate going forward. The Longhorns (6-1, 2-1) have to figure out how to bounce back as this is the type of game that the best teams in the country can give to elite programs every once in a while.

Here's a closer look at the box scores and how this game wound up the way it did:

Georgia vs. Texas Game Summary

The Georgia Bulldogs have showcased their ability to dominate and completely control the game. Georgia was able to overcome terrible play by Carson Beck and still secure a win with just 14 total first downs. The offense did enough in the first half to win this game but the hero of the game for the Bulldogs was running back Trevor Etienne.

The Texas Longhorns got destroyed as they were not able to do much offensively at all. Quinn Ewers couldn't get going and the team went 2-of-14 on third downs throughout the game, ran for 1.1 yards per attempt, and turned the ball over four different times (three fumbles lost, one interception). This is just a game they need to erase from their memory and move forward with the 2024 season.
