“God damn these are hard”: CFB fans gush over Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss’ latest helmet design ahead of Week 4
Ole Miss released its new camouflage helmet design on Wednesday morning. Although the helmet has been announced, the team will not wear them yet as they will be used on October 26 when Lane Kiffin's No. 5 Ole Miss Rebels (3-0) face the No. 15 Oklahoma Sooners (3-0).
The pictures released by the Rebels received high praise from fans as many gushed over the new design.
"God damn these are hard," one fan wrote.
"Ole Miss is slowly creeping up on Oregon for coldest uniforms in the sport," one fan commented.
"Ole Miss has yet to miss on any design of their helmets and jerseys," one fan added.
However, others pointed out that it was hard to see the camo. Some thought it was caused by the lighting, while others had issues with the design itself.
"It's suppose to be camo but sh*t, I can barely see the camouflage on the blue helmet. I thought that was a glare on the helmet. So the comouflage is what's hidden??," one fan wrote.
"This should have been taken anywhere else but in that area. because I though the camo was a glare on the helmet from the sun," one fan commented.
"I know no one is asking for my opinion, but these pics looks like the reflection of the sun peering through the trees instead of camo - not a fault with the helmets just location," one fan added.
Ole Miss will use this helmet design in late October against Oklahoma
Although some fans might be excited to see these helmet designs soon, they will need to wait until October 26 to see them on the players.
The Rebels have had a strong start to the season, rising to No. 5 on the AP Top 25 poll after dominant wins over Furman, Middle Tennessee and Wake Forest in the first three weeks.
Oklahoma has also started the season strong and is ranked No. 15 in the nation. Although its wins against Houston and Tulane were not as dominant as its Week 1 win over Temple, the Sooners have performed well to open the campaign.
Their matchup later this season will only be the second meeting between these teams. The first game took place in 1999 and was a 27-25 win for the Rebels.
