"He spent his last year on road with me": Legendary 90s rapper shares emotional story about Deion Sanders' father
Deion Sanders has done a tremendous job of turning around the Colorado Buffaloes football program in less than two years. The Buffaloes sit at 5-2, including a 3-1 mark in Big 12 play, and have already exceeded their projected 2024 win total.
The Pro and College Football Hall of Famer has also brought plenty of attention to the program. Legendary rapper MC Hammer attended Colorado's game against the Arizona Wildcats, which the Buffs won 34-7.
Speaking to Uncle Neely of Thee Pregame Show, he discussed his relationship with the Buffaloes head coach and his father.
"There's so many memories. We basically spent years and years and years and years going around the world together, going to places together, family going together. His father spent his last year on the road with me.
"I took him all around the world. And so we just got so many memories, so many things to talk about and we just keep that love real close. But I was so excited because, again, I've been watching him and the things that he's doing with Colorado. Very proud of him."
Hammer added that his former head dancer, Alonzo Carter, is now the assistant head coach of the Wildcats:
"They were on the same record label that we put together at the same time years ago so we're laughing and joking and going over memories.
"I'm proud again, as I said before the game, the way he deposits wisdom, encouragement and hope beyond football in these young men. So, I love him and the winning is the icing on the cake."

Can Deion Sanders lead the Colorado Buffaloes to the College Football Playoff in 2024?
The Colorado Buffaloes have struggled mightily over the past two decades. They have had just two winning seasons in which they played a full slate of games.
In fact, they have only had one season where they reached double-digit wins since 2001.
While Deion Sanders' first season got off to a strong start, it was largely a disappointment as the Buffaloes lost eight of their final nine games after a 3-0 start.
They needed just seven games to surpass that win total, as they are 5-2 to start the 2024 season.
Despite being a long shot to reach the College Football Playoff, Colorado has an opportunity to make a push for one of the 12 postseason spots.
They have the 28th-best odds, +1200, of reaching the postseason. While it is unlikely that they overcome those odds, making a run at a Big 12 championship and earning the conference's automatic bid is not out of the question.
