“How much did prime pay yall for this?” - CFB world left unamused as Deion Sanders’ Colorado bag no. 16 spot in EA Sports’ team power rankings

The Colorado Buffaloes were ranked the 16th best team in EA Sports College Football 25's overall team ratings. These came out on Friday and saw the Georgia Bulldogs as the number-one ranked team.

In other rankings relating to the offense and defense separately, the Buffaloes ranked eighth on offense and 20th on defense. Fans on X reacted to the ratings.

Some felt the Colorado Buffaloes deserved to be a top-10-ranked team.

"Colorado a top 10 offense and defense in your game but not a top 10 team? #DontAddUp," one fan tweeted on X.
"How is Colorado only 16th?? They should at least be Top 10!" A fan tweeted.
"How’s @CUBuffsFootball not in the Top 10," a fan tweeted.

Some fans disagreed with Colorado's ranking due to its poor performances last season.

"Colorado gotta be the highest rated 4-8 team ever," a fan tweeted.
"Again why is Colorado this high? They won 4 games last year," another fan tweeted.
"What is it y’all saw in Colorado that made you think they belong on this list?" A fan tweeted.

Some fans were annoyed by the Buffaloes being ranked higher than teams with a far more successful season last year.

"Colorado at 16 with no Tennessee in the top 25 lol fire everyone man," a fan tweeted.
"We’re really ranking Colorado and VT but not Louisville coming off a conference title game appearances with a top portal class. Ok……" a fan tweeted.
"Colorado top 20 going 4-8 leaving 9-4 Tennessee out who finished and returning most of the offense. And arguably the best pass rusher in the nation on defense. But also put iowa in who Tennessee beat in their bowl game with Nico," another fan tweeted.

Finally, some fans felt there was some form of foul play on behalf of Colorado, which allowed them to have this high ranking.

"Colorado must have pictures of these developers cheating on their wives and girlfriends," a fan tweeted.

Why were the Colorado Buffaloes ranked so high?

The Colorado Buffaloes were ranked as the 16th-best team in College Football 25. This surprised fans who thought the team with a 4-8 record last season should not have been included.

But, there may be a reason why their rating is higher than many thought it would be. Unlike last year, the Buffaloes have a team with somewhat more talent. This influx of transfers, from far more powerful schools, ups the rating.

Additionally, Travis Hunter influences the rating due to his strong season last year. He is one of the best players on the team who also featured on the game's cover.

Being a cover star means that the developers have spent time with Hunter. And they would want to make those who are the "face" of the game some of the best players available.
