“I’ll take anything they give us”: Coach Prime's most-loved Ms. Peggy has hilarious response to Bowl game choice
There are a lot of firsts when it comes to Colorado Buffaloes under second-year coach Deion Sanders this season. For the first time since 2020, the Buffaloes will be playing a bowl game.
For the first time since 2016, the Buffaloes have secured bowl eligibility. Two more firsts await: an appearance in Big 12 championship and making the college football playoffs.
All the way this season, Buffs fans have remained steadfast in support of Coach Prime's unit, especially superfan Miss Peggy (real name: Peggy Coppom). During this week's press conference, Deion asked Miss Peggy, which bowl game does she want the football team to play. She said:
“I’ll take anything they give us”
The conference room emerged in cheers after Miss Peggy had her say.
Big games in Folsom Field have been a rare sight for Colorado fans since the early 2000s and 1990s. The Buffaloes have won one national championship and conference championship, and their overall bowl record stands at .400 (12-18-0).
Colorado Buffaloes' Coach Prime celebrates Miss Peggy's 100th birthday
Miss Peggy has turned 100, but her support for Colorado hasn't dropped one inch. Coach Deion Sanders celebrated Miss Peggy's 100th birthday, honoring her with his apparel line.
"She's always greeted me with love, compassion, support, stability and hope," Sanders told reporters Tuesday. "I'm thankful to be celebrating her 100th with her. She is the epitome of CU Buffs, of Buff Nation. She is the rock that holds us all together."
During Colorado's Week 12 win over Utah, Miss Peggy's birthday was celebrated by Folsom Field, which brought her to tears as well.
Miss Peggy's family has been attending games since 1940. She has been to 330 games over the last 58 years, as per the school, and is a season ticket holder,
Miss Peggy also loves attending basketball games of the program. She made an appearance when Utah State faced the Colorado Buffaloes in college basketball. There also, her 100th birthday was celebrated.
Miss Peggy would want nothing less than Colorado winning the Big 12 championship game, the fate of which depends on how they perform in the coming games.
This week, Colorado's football program faces Kansas on the road before a home game against Oklahoma State on Nov. 29.
