“I'm gonna pull a Lebron Celly”: $2.5M NIL-valued Jalen Milroe gives fans an update on last week's celebration inspiration
When the Jalen Milroe-led Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs played against each other in Week 5 of college football, the quarterback hit the popular LeBron James' "Silencer" celebration after the team went 7-0.
Milroe, who has an NIL valuation of $2.5 million (as per On3 Sports), teamed up with Beast for a new digital series called LANK and talked about the inspiration behind the celebration.
"Each week I gotta get in that zone. I gotta get up in there so I gotta have something different each and every week," said Milroe. "You know, in the beginning week I always watch like a hype video, highlight tape, somebody that just gives me something you know where there's music, where there's sports. Always just a video that like, that sets the tone of the week.
"So I saw a video of LeBron earlier in that week. I said, 'man, I'm gonna pull a LeBron celly.'"
Kalen DeBoer talks about QB Jalen Milroe's growth in the 2024 CFB season
Kalen DeBoer has played an important role in Jalen Milroe's development. The Alabama head coach's reputation as a "quarterback whisperer" has helped in playing an instrumental role in cultivating Milroe's skill.
While talking about his qualities on Friday's edition of "Gojo and Golic," DeBoer said:
“He’s got the tools. He can spin it. He’s an accurate passer. He works hard. He’s got a lot of those tangibles, intangibles. But I think what he’s doing a good job of is just staying disciplined to what we’re asking him to do.
"Not trying to go above and beyond, when we say, ‘You need to read this, or go through this progression,’ he’s done a really good job. I think that’s one area where I’ve seen him improve. I’ve told him that."
DeBoer's guidance has helped Milroe stay disciplined and within the team's system, leading to his impressive performance against Georgia.
The Alabama Crimson Tide will play against Vanderbilt on Saturday. Jalen Milroe will look to continue his impressive play as he leads the team into their next SEC matchup.
