"I'm never going to be 100% satisfied" — Deion Sanders sets the standard for Colorado after no-injury fall camp week
The litmus test for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes is almost here, with less than two weeks remaining in the season opener. The Buffs HC is setting the bar high for the Buffaloes. Despite a no-injury fall camp week and rigorous training camp, Coach Prime remains unsatisfied.
“I’m never going to be 100% satisfied,” Sanders admitted after an open practice at Denver’s All-City Stadium, where thousands of fans gathered.
“We could always do better. I’m a former football player, not just a coach, so you’re never going to be 100% satisfied. But I’m happy with what we got accomplished today.” [00:40]
The NFL Hall of Famer kept his cards close to his chest during the practice.
“We cut down the playbook tremendously. We didn’t give them really quick game. So we did some things that we didn’t want to show too much of our hand, and I think we did a phenomenal job at that,” Sanders said.
The Buffaloes make their debut in the Big 12 on Aug. 29 against North Dakota State.

CFB analyst doesn't rate Deion Sanders' Colorado highly
The buzz around Sanders and his Colorado Buffaloes never dies, but not everyone is buying into the hype. ESPN’s Paul Finebaum and Heather Dinich shared their unfiltered opinions on "Get Up," and it’s clear they’re not expecting much from Sanders in his second season at Boulder. Finebaum bluntly stated:
“Deion Sanders is a superstar, we all know that, but Colorado is nothing. They’re just another school in the middle of nowhere in a third-rate league.”
He predicted a modest .500 record for the Buffaloes, which is far from impressive considering the immense energy and "overhype" surrounding the program. Dinich seconded Finebaum’s sentiments, saying:
“The bottom line is this, they are not going to compete for the Big 12 title, and we’re not even going to whisper about them in terms of the College Football Playoff until they start improving on both sides.”
With the 2024 season approaching, it’s a matter of time before we get the answer to the following question: Can Coach Prime prove the doubters wrong, or will the Buffaloes suffer the same fate as in 2023?
