"I'm so proud of you" - Deion Sanders sends an inspiring Thanksgiving message to Buffs nation ahead of Colorado's clash against Oklahoma
The Colorado Buffaloes, under coach Deion Sanders, have a crucial game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Week 14 of college football action. It will mark the end of their slate of regular season games. After the 37-21 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks in Week 13, the Buffs no longer have their Big 12 championship game appearance in their own hands. They require a bit of help from other teams to make it.
On Thanksgiving Day, the official Colorado Instagram account posted pictures of the charismatic Buffs coach sharing a meal with the squad, with his mother Connie Sanders in attendance.
Coach Prime also sent an inspiring message via an Instagram clip to Buffs Nation. He appreciated them for their support over the years as the team recovered from a 4-8 season to clinch bowl eligibility for the first time in eight years.
"Good day and God bless, first and foremost," Deion Sanders said. "Happy, happy, happy, blessed, peaceful, productive Thanksgiving. I love you, I appreciate you, I adore you and I'm so proud of you. Why am I proud of you? You don't even know, okay? I'm proud of your resilience. You could have shut down but you kept going, you could have stopped but you kept going, you could've went off but you kept going.
"Nevertheless, that's why I'm so darn proud of you. God bless you all, let's go Buffs! Thank you Buff Nation, I love you all."
Deion Sanders aiming to bounce back after complacency claim
Before the game against the Kansas Jayhawks, coach Deion Sander's Colorado Buffaloes had four straight wins and were at the top of the Big 12 standings. It came on the back of the brilliance of quarterback Shedeur Sanders and the Heisman-contending Travis Hunter.
During his postgame news conference after the Kansas loss, Coach Prime was blunt in his assessment of the game and why his team lost so comprehensively.
"We started smelling ourselves a little bit," Deion Sanders said. "That's what I just told our team. We got intoxicated with the success. We got intoxicated with the multitude of articles and the assumption that we're this and the assumption that we're that. And we did not play CU football. Therefore, we got our butts kicked. It is what it is."
The Buffs are in a four-way tie atop the Big 12 standings alongside the Iowa State Cyclones, the Arizona State Sun Devils, and the BYU Cougars. Deion Sanders will need two of those teams to lose and for his team to win against the Oklahoma State Cowboys to feature in the conference championship game. It is, notably, his team's inaugural season after departing the Pac-12.
