"I still love Alabama": Nick Saban's daughter Kristen clarifies her previous comment on Bama loss via latest IG post
Kristen Saban, daughter of Alabama coach Nick Saban, clarified her comments following Alabama's stunning 40-35 loss to Vanderbilt. After the game, she shared her lighthearted reaction on Instagram, posting:
"Me going to bed tonight knowing I don’t have to take these games personally anymore."
To clear up any confusion, Kristen quickly posted a follow-up video:
“Let me preface by saying I still love Alabama and want them to succeed, I just meant I don't have to carry all the feelings I use to carry after a loss,” she shared.
“It takes a lot out of you, and I hope the boys can learn from their mistakes and make a great comeback. Roll Tide forever, duh.”
She supports the team, but after years of highs and lows, she has learned to balance her emotions, reminding fans that setbacks happen and that the team will bounce back:
“I just meant I'm not personally carrying the weight of, you know, like the sad feelings of the loss of the game, because my family carried that of those emotions for 17 years, win or lose,” she said. “And it's a lot for a person to carry. And I know that the players are carrying that now and it's just a lot, so I still love them.”
“I'm sure they're gonna learn from their mistakes and make a huge comeback. It's one game guys; don't forget. It's just football. Sleep tight.”
Kristen often attends games and shares her thoughts on social media. While she's passionate about the team, she’s also focused on her career in event management and work with Nick's Kids, her family’s charitable foundation.
Vanderbilt's win over Alabama has rocked the college football world
Vanderbilt's incredible win over Alabama has rocked the college football world, marking a historic achievement for the Commodores. This victory not only snaps a 40-year losing streak against Alabama but also gives Vanderbilt its first win over a top-five team.
The Commodores jumped out to an impressive 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Sedrick Alexander kicked things off with a six-yard touchdown run on the opening drive. Randon Fontenette added to the excitement with a thrilling 29-yard interception return for a touchdown, catching Alabama's Heisman candidate, Jalen Milroe, off guard.
Although the Crimson Tide fought back, narrowing the score to 23-14 at halftime thanks to two touchdown runs by Milroe, they struggled with turnovers and penalties throughout the game.
This unexpected defeat complicates Alabama's journey in both the SEC and the College Football Playoff race. With the loss, Alabama joins Texas, Texas A&M, LSU and Tennessee as the remaining unbeaten teams in the SEC, making for an intense season ahead.
