"I think I'm the best": Marvin Harrison Jr. calls himself the greatest Ohio State WR in NCAA history
Marvin Harrison Jr. had a great collegiate career as a member of the Ohio State Buckeyes after joining as a four-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He didn't play much as a true freshman, as he was behind 2022 first-round draft picks Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave and 2023 first-round draft pick Jaxon Smith-Njigba on the depth chart.
He ended his three-year career with 155 receptions for 2,613 yards and 31 touchdowns, adding 58 rushing yards and one touchdown on four carries. Harrison was a two-time unanimous All-American, finishing fourth in Heisman Trophy voting in 2023. He was selected fourth overall in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals.
Ahead of his rookie season, he was asked where he believes he ranks on the list of greatest Ohio State wide receivers of all-time. Harrison responded:
"I think I'm the best, if I'm being honest. If you look at it from a numbers standpoint, you do per game, on a per game basis, because I think Michael Jenkins and Cris Carter, they started their freshman year - started their whole freshman year, I didn't get to start my freshman year.
"I only started one game my freshman year then obviously my two years, I did my thing. Then you look at the accolades."
He continued:
"Two-time Receiver of the Year, Big Ten Player of the Year, unanimous All-American back-to-back years. I mean, I did it all. I think from an Ohio State standpoint, they always say, 'oh, you didn't beat the team up north' so it's like, I mean, I didn't. I think that's a team kind of accomplishment, but that would be the only thing that you could really say.
"That's why I think I'm the best - from an accolade and statistical standpoint."

Harrison will look to follow in his father's footsteps by having a career that lands him in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His NFL debut will come on Sept. 8 as the Cardinals visit the Buffalo Bills to begin the season.
Marvin Harrison Jr. reveals that his goal was always the NFL
Marvin Harrison Jr. had the opportunity to spend plenty of time around the NFL as a child, as his father had a legendary 13-year career, retiring as one of the greatest wide receivers of all time. Harrison shared that the NFL had always been his goal:
"I never even thought about college, really. In my mind growing up, all you do is see your dad in the NFL.
"My whole mindset was just get to the NFL and go ball out there, so I knew college had to be the process you had to go through to get to the NFL, but I was never really thinking I want to do this in college or this, this and that."
