“I told him to do that”: Deion Sanders’ ex wife Pilar Sanders takes credit for son Shedeur Sanders’ electric TD against Baylor
Shedeur Sanders was instrumental to the Colorado Buffaloes' 38-31 win over the Baylor Bears last weekend. Shedeur threw for two touchdowns and 341 yards in the overtime victory. He did this in front of members of his family, both on the sidelines and in the crowd.
On Wednesday, Sanders' younger sister Shelomi posted a blog about her time at the game. She and Pilar Sanders, Shedeur's mom and the ex-wife of Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders, were seen watching the game.
Responding to a touchdown that had been thrown by Shedeur, Pilar said:
"I told him to do that. "
The game was closely contested and heading into the last few minutes, it was Baylor who had a seven-point lead.
Sanders knew that his final drive of the game would have to end in a touchdown. On the final pass of the game, Sanders found LaJohntay Wester for a 43-yard Hail Mary touchdown.
This leveled the scores and took the game to overtime. The Buffaloes scored a touchdown and Travis Hunter forced a fumble to end the game and improve to 3-1 on the season.
Shelomi Sanders responds to her father's comments
Shelomi Sanders responded to comments that her father made on her leaving the Colorado Buffaloes women's basketball team and transferring to the Alabama A&M Lady Bulldogs.
At the time, Deion Sanders called her decision "stupid" and added that "where I come from, historically, kids follow their parents."
It is safe to say that he wasn't happy about Shelomi's decision. However, Shelomi has appeared to make peace with her dad.
"You know, he is my dad, and he's also a coach, so I think that's why he kind of just had a reaction like that. But we handled and discussed things behind closed doors, so it's all good now."
