In Photos: Lane Kiffin takes a trip down memory lane as he shares adorable snaps of his brother Chris's children
Ole Miss Rebels coach Lane Kiffin prepares his team for a difficult stretch of the season after an open week. Before that, they lost 29-26 to the No. 8 LSU Tigers in Death Valley in Week 7. The Rebels were favored for the college football playoff spots during preseason but are now in danger of sliding out of consideration.
Ahead of the Rebels' clash against the Oklahoma Sooners, Kiffin took a trip down memory lane with a nostalgic post on his Instagram stories of his brother Chris's children (Blla, Grace, Taylor and Christian).
In August 2024, Chris Kiffin left his role as the linebackers coach for the Houston Texans to become an offensive analyst on his brother's staff.
Lane Kiffin keeps family tradition alive by hiring Chris Kiffin
Before the 2024 college football season began, Lane Kiffin hired his brother, Chris Kiffin, to his Ole Miss Rebels staff as an offensive analyst. The Lane family has worked together with the brothers and their father, Monte Kiffin, who died in July, often serving in the same teams.
Chris worked on Lane's staff when he was the defensive coordinator of the Florida Atlantic Owls. Chris was a finalist for the 2017 Broyles Award given to the top assistant in college football while working for his brother.
During a news conference, the elder Kiffin revealed his excitement at working with his brother once again and the fact that his nieces and nephews would move to Oxford with their father.
“It’s really awesome to have him (Chris) around,” Lane said via On3. “Without being too personal, I know my dad is excited about it. And this is, as he reminded me, our 4th time working together. It’s awesome, especially because his 4 kids will be here and they’re actually on the same street as me. They moved in 2 nights ago. So that’s really cool. It’s really awesome.
“And from a coaching standpoint, it gives us somebody with a lot of experience, a good ability to game plan and knowledge."
It was not Chris Kiffin's first time working in Oxford. In 2007, he was a graduate assistant for the Ole Miss Rebels and between 2012 and 2016, he coached the Ole Miss defensive line.
Lane Kiffin and his brother have a hard mountain to climb to make the conference championship game and snag one of the coveted college football playoff spots after dropping two games in what was expected to be a promising season for the Ole Miss Rebels.
