Nick Saban appears to be enjoying his retirement. His daughter, Kristen Saban, shared some photos of the Saban family at a Rolling Stone concert on Instagram, on June 8.
"Vibe with your parents at @therollingstones concert: check."
Nick Saban has been vocal in the past about his love for the Rolling Stones. He once spoke to GQ magazine about what he thought about the success that Rolling Stone had over the last 50 years.
“They have an exceptional ability to deal with success and maintain a high standard of how they do things, even when they’ve been successful for a long time.”
This description that Saban used to describe the Rolling Stone could easily be applied to Saban's time as the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Under Nick Saban, Alabama achieved incredible success, winning six national championships and nine SEC conference championships.
Kristen Saban recalls how she learned of Nick Saban's retirement
Kristen Saban has revealed how she found out that her father had retired. She told "The Next Round" podcast:
“So that morning I kind of got a little heads up. … My mom was like, ‘You know, maybe. Maybe not. But don’t be surprised if you see something.’ And later that afternoon I was on a plane to Orlando with my son to go to Disney World, and I had just bought the Southwest Wifi. And my phone is just blowing up."
"And a friend of mine who works for the ‘Tuscaloosa News’ texted me and said, ‘Hey, can you confirm this for me? Chris Low’s tweet.’.. And I said, ‘What do you mean? What’s Chris’ tweet?’ And I pulled up Instagram and the first article I saw was retiring ... I’m on the plane. I can’t text anybody. I can’t call anybody. And so, I’m like, ‘OK, are you doing this? Am I finding out on Instagram on my way to Disney World?’”
Kristen Saban found out that her dad was retiring on a flight to Disney World. The news surprised her, as it did everyone at the time. But, as time has gone on, she has been spending more time with her father, doing things that the pair have never done before, like attending a concert together.
