In Pictures: Arch Manning's 3-word post after MS State face-off turns heads

It's been a "fun few weeks" for Arch Manning, who hasn't disappointed the Texas Longhorns' fans with back-to-back impressive performances in the absence of starting quarterback Quinn Ewers, who remains on the sidelines with an abdominal strain. Last week, he led Texas to a 35-13 win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The week before, he led in a win against LA-Monroe.

On Monday, the quarterback shared snaps from his past weekend, which culminated with fans and analysts cherishing him even more. IT included pictures from the game, Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, a picture with his father Cooper Manning and Ellen Heidingsfelder, posing with offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. and meeting "Interstellar" actor Matthew McConaughey.

While Arch Manning has shown that he has all the tricks in the books to become a Heisman winner in the future, Steve Sarkisian is expected to start Quinn Ewers next week for a rivalry game against No. 19 Oklahoma on Oct. 12.

Steve Sarkisian assesses Arch Manning's game

While college football remains bullish on Arch Manning's stock under center, the Longhorns coach shared a more inside look on where he feels the young quarterback needs improvement.

“There were some nice plays he made, especially on third-down conversions. And there was a couple of other ones I thought he could have operated the plays even better," Sarkisian said.
"So, that’s our job; to push him to go do that. But, I was proud of him. I thought he really responded coming off of last week’s game. And what a luxury, to have a player of his caliber as our backup quarterback."

In four games, Arch Manning has thrown for 900 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions, attributing a quarterback rating of 85.5, slightly less than Quinn Ewers' 85.5 rating. Ewers, meanwhile, in three games, has thrown for 691 yards with eight touchdowns and two interceptions.

The No. 2 Longhorns have a difficult road ahead. In hindsight, one can say that all of the Longhorns' wins were against weaker opponents, except maybe against the Michigan Wolverines this season. Starting next week, they have Oklahoma, No. 5, Georgia Bulldogs in back-to-back matchups on the card.

Finding the best quarterback will be key for the Longhorns, who aim to win it all this season.
