Insider notes on Texas and Michigan players entering the NFL Draft'25: Will Johnson, Colston Loveland updates, and another Longhorns' OT joins the mix

With conference title games upon us and the College Football Playoff right around the corner, expect news from underclassmen entering the draft or staying in school to come fast and furious in the coming weeks. Here’s the latest from Texas, a team hoping to play for the national title, and Michigan, a team that came out victorious last week in their biggest game of the season.

Texas players expected to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft

Cameron Williams

More than a month ago, I reported that Kelvin Banks Jr., the Longhorns’ left tackle, would enter the draft. Now I’m told the blocker who mans the right side, Cameron Williams, will also make himself eligible for the event.

Williams is Banks's antithesis, a mobile yet smaller blocker. He is a mountain of a man, likely 6 feet 5 inches and 330 pounds, and he plays to that size.

Williams annihilates opponents at the point of attack, yet he’s marginally effective in blocking in motion, especially compared to Banks.

He’s received a lot of love outside the scouting community, often showing up in the first round of mock drafts. And while that may end up happening, I currently have a second-round grade on Williams.

Matthew Golden, Trey Moore

Receiver Matthew Golden and linebacker Trey Moore, both of whom transferred to Texas this season, are also leaning toward entering the draft.

Golden has had his best season to date, catching 39 passes for 576 yards and eight TDs. He’s a well-built wideout with legitimate deep speed who is prone to the big play.

Moore, a transfer from UTSA, is someone I wrote about over the summer. He is explosive, athletic, and equally adept at disrupting the action on the blitz or making plays in pursuit of the ball handler. Moore presently has a third-round grade on my board.

Michigan players expected to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft

Less than two weeks ago, I reported that Will Johnson, Mason Graham, Kenneth Grant, and Colston Loveland, all projected first-round picks, will enter the draft. I’m told Johnson, Graham, and Loveland are making final preparations to train in Arizona and prepare themselves for the combine as well as pro day.

With a record of 7-5, the Wolverines will play in a second-tier bowl game, quite possibly the Music City Bowl. It would be surprising if any of the three played in the game.

Johnson and Loveland have both been nursing injuries. Johnson has not played in more than two months, last suiting up against Washington on October 5.

Loveland played with a shoulder injury much of the season, though he did not play against Ohio State. Graham could participate in the bowl game, though he is projected as a top-12 selection in the draft.
