"It's a new achievement": Michigan's Will Johnson reacts to being named the EA Sports' CFB 25 games' top-rated player
Michigan's Will Johnson is the highest-rated player in EA Sports' new video game, CFB 25. CFB 25 is the first college football video game to come out in over a decade, as before the NIL era and after 2014 major publishers were prevented from making college sports video games due to clash action lawsuits from disgruntled student-athletes who saw those games as illegal use of their image and likeness.
At 96 overall, the cornerback is the highest-rated player in the game. A recent clip of him discussing the achievement was released by CBS Sports, where he's seen admitting he's pleased with the news but has set himself a new goal:
“It's a new achievement... But I gotta get to a 99”
CFB 25 is set to be released on July 19 this week. The standard edition is set to retail at $69.99 plus taxes. However, some reviewers have already got their hands on the game and their reviews are considerably favorable, with some stating that the game brings a touch of nostalgia with a modern look.
Could Will Johnson be the first overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft?

ESPN's Jordan Reid recently stated that Will Johnson might be a dark horse in the race for the first overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft:
“We’ve never seen a cornerback being selected at the top of the draft (common draft era, since 1967), so yeah, the odds are extremely stacked against Johnson. But if there were a CB who could challenge for that feat, he’d be a strong contender.
In 2022, Derek Stingley Jr. and Sauce Gardner were picked with back-to-back selections at Nos. 3 and 4. Johnson is that caliber of corner prospect.”
Johnson was the defensive MVP of the 2023 championship game between the Michigan Wolverines and the defeated Washington Huskies. He was a First Team All-Big Ten selection and received First Team All-American honors in 2023.
