Ja'Quinden Jackson injury: Arkansas HC Sam Pittman offers insights on Razorbacks star’s status
Ja'Quinden Jackson has been in the spotlight for the Arkansas Razorbacks ahead of their Week 10 clash against the No. 19-ranked Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday. The running back has been dealing with an ankle injury that he suffered in Arkansas' Week 8 defeat against the LSU Tigers.
Arkansas coach Sam Pittman has offered an update on whether Jackson will return for the clash against the Rebels.
Ja'Quinden Jackson injury update ahead of Week 10 matchup vs. Ole Miss
Jackson is doubtful to play on Saturday. On Monday's Southeastern Conference teleconference, Pittman gave an update on Jackson, as well as his other running back, Rodney Hill.
“I think Rodney will be available,” Pittman said. “We’ll probably put him as questionable, probable today. JJ will probably be doubtful on that list today.”
Jackson reportedly "tweaked" his right ankle in the fourth quarter of Arkansas' 34-10 loss to LSU on Oct. 19. He exited and did not return.
He also missed the Razorbacks' win against Mississippi State in Week 9. He is not ruled out for the Week 10 game.
Jackson's availability will depend on his recovery in the next few days. However, Pittman believes that he will return at some point in the regular season.
Jackson has racked up 592 yards on 104 carries and 10 touchdowns this season. He also has 125 yards on 11 receptions.
