Jaydon Blue injury: What happened to the Texas Longhorns RB against Michigan?
Texas Longhorns running back Jaydon Blue was injured against Michigan. Blue took a routine carry with five minutes left in the first quarter, but after the play, he was seen hobbling off the field. He was able to go to the sidelines on his own but had to hop on his left leg. The injury has not been announced, but based on Blue's actions, it appears to be to his right leg.
Jaydon Blue's injury update
During the second quarter, FOX reporter Jenny Taft provided an update on Jaydon Blue. She said:
"Texas has continued to play without running back Jaydon Blue right now. He is currently on the sideline. They have re-taped his right ankle. He has been in and out of the medical tent, he ran up to the locker room at one point."
"Right now, he is trying to make sure his body is available. Texas doesn't want to provide a yea or nay, but right now, he's trying to stay in it. he wants to be factor in this one."
So while Blue is still feeling the injury, it appears he is doing everything he can to get back into the game. It remains to be seen whether that will happen.
Jaydon Blue's Impact on Texas
If Blue is out long-term, it would be a big hit to the Texas offense. Last season, Blue had 65 carries for 398 yards, three touchdowns and averaged 6.1 yards per carry. He also doubles as a wide receiver, with 14 catches for 135 yards and a touchdown last year.
Blue already made a solid impact on the Longhorns early this season. In Week 1, he carried the ball 11 times for 57 yards in a 52-0 win over Colorado State. Blue is expected to be one of two running backs to carry the load for Texas this season along with Jerrick Gibson.
Before Jadon Blue was injured, he was getting heavy usage early in the game. He already carried the ball four times for 14 yards.
When will Jaydon Blue return?
After his exit in the game against Michigan, Blue was able to re-enter the game in the second quarter, but he failed to receive any touchdowns.
