Kansas State vs Arizona Game Summary
The Arizona Wildcats struck first with a proper offensive drive encompassing 73 yards in 14 plays. It ended with a 1-yard run from Quali Conley for a touchdown. The home team answered with a good offensive drive of their own as they tied the game after Avery Johnson got the ball to Will Swanson for a 3-yard TD.
Arizona kicker Tyler Loop's 71-yard punt was returned for a touchdown by Dylan Edwards. Kansas State cornerback Keenan Garber grabbed an interception, to protect the 14-7 lead going into halftime.
Avery Johnson continued running the offense smoothly as the start of the third quarter saw him connect with tight end Brayden Loftin for a nine-yard touchdown drive. This was followed by another great offensive drive, which ended with DJ Giddens scoring from a yard for his first rushing touchdown of the season.
Kansas State, leading 28-7, added three more to its tally through a successful 35-yard field goal attempt by Chris Tennant.
With this win, the Kansas State Wildcats improved to 3-0 while the Arizona Wildcats suffered their first defeat.
Kansas State will travel to Baylor in Week 4 to play the Cougars. Meanwhile, the Arizona Wildcats have a bye next week. They'll face the No. 12 Utah Utes in a Week 5 matchup at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
