"Keep being you": Dillon Gabriel's fiancée pens a heartfelt note for him after the Oregon QB broke an all-time NCAA record
Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel had his fiancée, Zoe Caswell, beaming with pride as he etched his name in the NCAA record books. After breaking an all-time NCAA record with 179 touchdowns and entering the FBS All-Time Leaders list, Gabriel received a touching shoutout from Caswell.
Gabriel’s fiancée shared an Instagram story celebrating the Ducks QB’s hard work and dedication to the game, with the caption:
“It’s hard to put into words how proud I am of you!” she wrote, alongside photos of Gabriel in action. “I know you don’t care about accolades, but this is a pretty big one, so I had to! I love you so much. Keep being you ❤️.”
The original story was a post from ESPN on Instagram that gave a shoutout to Gabriel, writing:
"Dillon Gabriel stands alone in the record book 📖🦆,” with a picture that highlighted his achievement.
Gabriel’s journey with the Oregon Ducks has been a season of triumphs. His decision to transfer from Oklahoma to join Coach Dan Lanning’s Ducks marked a fresh start, and he’s definitely making the most of it.
Meanwhile, Caswell’s support has helped Bo Nix’s successor to lead Oregon to an undefeated record, positioning himself as a strong serious Heisman contender.
Dillon Gabriel values relationships over accolades
Dillon Gabriel’s recent achievement of breaking the FBS all-time touchdown record for total touchdowns is impressive, but he holds the relationships that he built in Oregon even more valuable.
Gabreil’s college football career started in 2019 from UCF, as a backup to starter Brandon Wimbush, followed by his transition to Oklahoma in 2021. However, after spending two years with the team, he decided to transfer to Oregon.
In his debut, the 23-year-old passed for 380 yards, later becoming the eighth college quarterback to surpass 15,000 passing yards. After setting the new record with his 179th touchdown pass against Maryland, Gabriel, in his postgame interview, clarified that personal accolades aren't what define him.
Instead, Gabriel emphasized that the memories he cherishes most come from moments like his connection with teammate Gernorris Wilson, who caught the record-breaking pass.
“It’s the relationships, the people,” Gabriel shared. “That’s what I’ll remember, not necessarily the record book,” he added.
This mindset is reflected in Gabriel’s leadership as Oregonsits at 10-0 and making a strong push for both the Big Ten Championship. Meanwhile, their leader Gabriel knows what matters as a team.
