Kennesaw State vs Jacksonville State: Game Summary

While the first half of the game was competitive, in the second half, the Gamecocks completely blew out the Owls with their speedy offense.

The first offensive drive of the game from the Gamecocks (six plays, 59 yards) resulted in Tre Stewart rushing for a one-yard touchdown. The Owls scored a field goal to end the quarter 7-3 in favor of Jacksonville State.

The Gamecocks started the second quarter with two successful offensive drives that led to Tyler Huff's first rushing for a six-yard touchdown, followed by Steward rushing for another touchdown to take the Gamecocks up by 21-3.

The Owls responded with two touchdowns of their own. Jacksonville State's 58-yard kickoff was returned for a touchdown by Qua Ashley. Kennesaw State's Davis Bryson passed for a seven-yard touchdown to Carson Kent to enter halftime with a 21-17 lead for the Gamecocks.

The third quarter is when Jacksonville State started to make distance. There were three touchdown drives, all for the Gamecocks, with Huff rushing for a score two times and Stewart adding one more rushing score to his game tally. The quarter ended with the Gamecocks extending the lead to 42-17.

In the fourth quarter, the Gamecocks had three more touchdown drives as opposed to the Owls getting to the end zone once. Jacksonville's Jabari Mack intercepted Davis Bryson for a 30-yard touchdown. This was followed by the Owls' Michael Benefield rushing for a one-yard touchdown.

Tre Stewart added his third rushing score of the game and Mike Franklin also ran for a 23-yard touchdown to close the game 63-24 in Jacksonville State's favor.
