Keyshawn Johnson delivers verdict on Deion Sanders' future as NFL interest continues to grow
Deion Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes have been in the headlines for all the right reasons this season. Coach Prime's team Buffaloes (6-2, 4-1 Big 12) are currently third in the Big 12 and ranked No. 21 in the AP Poll heading into Week 11 of the 2024 season..
While Sanders' immediate focus is on leading Colorado to a College Football Playoff berth, some NFL teams have been closely monitoring his work. Amid rumors linking him to potential NFL coaching opportunities, NFL analyst Keyshawn Johnson has shared his perspective on Sanders' future.
"Coach Prime will probably be in Boulder next year," Johnson said on his "All Facts No Brakes" podcast on Monday [Timestamp:00:15]. "Where else is he gonna go? He can go to the NFL. But right now, if he jumps and goes to another college, Boulder can pay him basically the same other colleges can pay."
The New York Jets recently fired head coach Robert Saleh, and are currently being led by interim coach Ulbrich. The team is still searching for a permanent replacement. Additionally, the New Orleans Saints also parted ways with coach Dennis Allen on Monday.
There are also a few other top college teams that have been linked with Sanders, but Coach Prime has re-iterated that he plans to remain in Colorado and fulfill his contract.
