Kirby Smart sends heartwarming wishes to Georgia's Trevor Etienne and Co. for their latest achievement
Kirby Smart is one of the most demanding coaches in college football. His tough approach in practice sessions and aggressive attitude toward performances are carried throughout the SEC.
But he's not just demanding on the field. To build a strong team culture and program foundation, one must mold their players into outstanding human beings. That can happen off the field in personal lives when it comes to developing players' life skills, giving them tools for career success, and giving them a pathway to explore their genuine interests.
However, arguably, the most important thing is the player's success in the classroom as a student. This week, Georgia Bulldogs coach Smart highlighted some of the key players who showed strong academic accomplishments this week on his social media.
Georgia Bulldogs: Well-Rounded Human Beings
Some of the players on this list are the best that Georgia has groomed this year.
Junior running back Trevor Etienne has had an efficient season scoring the football for the Bulldogs. He has seven touchdowns on the season, scoring at least one in four of Georgia's seven games. His best performances this season include an 88-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Auburn Tigers and an 87-yard, three-touchdown performance against the Texas Longhorns.
Georgia has sported a balanced receiving core for quarterback Carson Beck that gets everyone involved, but senior wide receiver Dom Lovett has been one of the highlights. He had four receptions for 35 yards against the Longhorns.
Sophomore linebacker Damon Wilson II has emerged as one of the more impressive underclassmen of this year's defense. His one sack of the year came during Georgia's game against the Longhorns.
Although sophomore defensive lineman Jordan Hall and linebacker Sam Shurtleff have not played football this year, Smart still gives them shoutouts for their classroom achievements.
Looking Ahead To The Playoff Picture
Georgia plays the Florida Gators on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. At 6-1 and ranked No. 2 overall in the country, there is a debate about whether an upset by the Gators would eliminate Georgia from competing for a spot in the 2024 College Football Playoff.
The Gators are unranked at 4-3. Both Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Alabama Crimson Tide have losses to unranked opponents that they have spent the entire season trying to overcome through as many quality wins as possible. Georgia will have to do the same.
