Kirk Herbstreit jokingly questions Pat McAfee for hyping his Michigan pick, going against Alabama
On Saturday's episode of ESPN's "College GameDay," analysts Kirk Herbstreit and Pat McAfee and other panel members discussed the upcoming ReliaQuest Bowl between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Michigan Wolverines, scheduled for Dec. 31 in Tampa, Florida.
When the time came for picks, Kirk picked Michigan saying:
"You know, with Alabama, the transfer portal, I think, has impacted them. I think Michigan's looking at this as an opportunity to win this game, springboard into the next year. I'm going Michigan."
Pat McAfee quickly responded:
"Oh, really? Isn't that interesting? That's a fascinating change, Kurt."
The former Ohio State quarterback replied, followed by hilarious rhetoric from Nick Saban:
"That's analysis. What the hell are you talking about?" Herbstreit said.
"Where's your son going to school?" Saban questioned.
Kirk's son, Chase Herbstreit committed to Michigan on Dec. 8. Coming from St Xavier, Chase has earned himself a 3-star 82.10 rating from On3. In 33 ga͏mes as a s͏tarter, Herbstreit re͏corded 3,9͏83 p͏a͏ssi͏ng yards ͏with 32͏ ͏to͏uch͏downs and 14 interceptions.͏ He also accumulated 657 rushing yard͏s an͏d nine rushing͏ touchdowns ov͏er his ͏ca͏reer.
The hilarious reaction from the panel aimed to highlight Kirk's probable bias towards the Wolverines because of this reason.

Kerb Herbstreit on Ohio State vs Tennessee
Ohio State won 42-17 against Tennessee on Saturday night in the first round of the college football playoffs. With over 8 minutes left of the first quarter, Quinshon Judkins crossed the endzone line taking the scoreline to 13-0. Kirk expressed his views on the perfect start, saying:
"It's pretty obvious, between the negativity after the Michigan game, they walk out in their home stadium, they see maybe 40,000 Tennessee fans, it became even more of an us against the world mentality for Ohio State."
Ohio State will face Oregon in the quarterfinals next in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1. The Ducks are favorites going into the game and will try and continue their unbeaten run, while the Buckeyes will aim to take revenge for the (32-31) loss in Week 7.
