Lane Kiffin unwinds by attending Taylor Swift's Eras Tour after Ole Miss' loss against LSU
Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin is finally getting some much-needed breathing space following his team's narrow 26-29 loss to the LSU Tigers in Week 7. The Rebels, now at 5-2, had a bye last week, and took the precious opportunity to readjust ahead of this week's collision with the Oklahoma Sooners.
A bye week also gives players and coaches a chance to unwind and spend quality time with their families before the season's intense final stretch. Kiffin took advantage of the break by attending Taylor Swift's recent concert.
Lane Kiffin posted an Instagram Story and a post on X on Sunday, showing the pop star performing her hit song 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together'.
Lane Kiffin must have had an amazing evening at the Hard Rock Stadium, in Miami Gardens on Sunday, where the pop sensation performed the last leg of her Eras Tour.
It was another lucky concert for Swift and her fans, as it rained for almost three hours, yet the singer performed while fans danced and cheered throughout the concert. Swift’s next performances will be in New Orleans, Indianapolis, Toronto and Vancouver, before ending her tour on Dec. 8.
Lane Kiffin’s special week with daughter Presley
Lane Kiffin also celebrated his daughter Presley’s birthday just a day before surprising her with Taylor Swift concert tickets. Presley turned 18 on October 19, 2024, and Lane timed it perfectly with his team's bye week and the concert.
What could be a better surprise than having her dad spend the entire weekend with her?
Kiffin wished Presley a happy birthday by posting a picture of her enjoying dinner with friends, captioning it:
"Happy birthday Presley"
He also shared another post on X, showcasing a special birthday setup with memorable photos of Presley spread out on a table.
Like her father, Presley too has a love for sports, and in March, she committed to playing volleyball at USC.
Lane Kiffin's squad faces high-stakes challenge ahead
The Ole Miss Rebels' most recent game versus the LSU Tigers ended in a heartbreaking defeat. With 3:14 remaining in the fourth quarter, LSU trailed 23-16. But they were able to equalize the score when quarterback Garrett Nussmeier delivered a 23-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Anderson, forcing overtime.
Caden Davis, a kicker for the Rebels, opened the scoring in overtime with a 57-yard field goal. But it was insufficient as Nussmeier completed another 25-yard touchdown throw to give LSU a 29-26 victory.
Lane Kiffin's team suffered a narrow defeat, particularly against a higher-ranked LSU. They will also play the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs, a highly regarded team, going ahead. Their last hopes of making the playoffs, though, could be dashed by another defeat.
Kiffin has a difficult task ahead of him and will try to prevent future games from being lost in the closing seconds.
