"Let me get a percentage": $1.6M NIL valued Carson Beck cheekily asks teammate for profits from limited edition 'Beck-express' merch
Carson Beck has had an up-and-down year under center for the Georgia Bulldogs in his second season as the starting quarterback. The four-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class – who has a name, image and likeness valuation of $1.6 million according to On3 Sports – recently joked that he wants a percentage of any limited edition merchandise bearing a nickname created by ChatGPT.
Speaking to Sudu Upadhyay of Fox 5 Atlanta on Thursday, Beck was told some of the AI-generated nicknames, including 'Beck the Jet', 'Beck Flash', 'The Beck Express', 'Beck Breaker', 'Run Away Beck', 'Carson Dash' and 'Beck on Wheels'. The starting quarterback responded:
"'Beck Express' or the 'Beck Flash' cause, you know, I run a 4.3 [second 40-yard dash]."
After Beck clarified he was joking about his 40-yard dash time, linebacker CJ Allen agreed that 'Beck Express' was the best nickname. Upadhyay noted that the four-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class makes t-shirts, claiming he should make one with the nickname.
Beck quickly responded:
"Yeah, limited edition. Let me get a percentage."

Carson Beck entered the year with high expectations as he was projected to be among the top quarterbacks in the nation. He was in the conversation for both the Heisman Trophy and to be selected No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL draft. He has been inconsistent through 10 games, however, throwing for 2,835 yards, 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Beck has completed 65.1% of his passes while adding 71 rushing yards and one touchdown on 41 carries.
Can Carson Beck lead Georgia Bulldogs to College Football Playoff?
Carson Beck was the backup quarterback for the Bulldogs as they won back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022. He took over the starting role last season and led the team to a 12-0 regular season, however, a loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship Game cost the Bulldogs a postseason spot.
Georgia entered the 2024 season ranked first in the nation and among the favorites to win their third title in four seasons. Things have not been as smooth as expected, as the Bulldogs are 8-2 and ranked No. 10 in the College Football Playoff rankings entering the final two weeks of the season.
While they may fall short of the SEC Championship Game, Georgia appears to be in a strong position to reach the postseason. Despite being ranked No. 10, the Bulldogs have the third-best odds in the nation (-2200) to earn a trip to the College Football Playoff in the first year of the 12-team field.
