"Looks dark as s**t” : Fans left unimpressed with new dynamic lighting in EA Sports College Football 26
EA Sports College Football 26 is officially releasing on July 10th worldwide. However, fans who bought the Deluxe Edition and MVP Bundle can already start playing the game, as the early access began on July 7.
EA Sports revived the franchise after 11 years of silence when they released CFB 25 last year. With the new iteration in the franchise, fans can expect a few graphical changes and improvements from the previous version. One of them is the in-game lighting effects.
On Sunday, CFB Kings posted a clip from the game. It showed off the dynamic lighting system in the game that gives players the desired effect in-game depending on the time of day.
The video showcased a dimmed-out field with flashes of sunrays hitting the fans and the gridiron, similar to what one would experience in evening games in real life.
Fans were not particularly impressed. They took to the comments to share their thoughts on EA Sports College Football 26's dynamic lighting system.
"Looks dark as s**t," one fan commented.
"Ngl Madden on ps2 had this I thought bros was talking about actual graphics having better lighting Not the damn sun and the shade lol," another fan stated.
"Sun doesn't set. This is not dymanic lol. Just some of the same sunset lighting," this fan said.
More fans went into the details, sharing why this improvement is a failure.
"What would be actually impressive/exciting is if it progressively becomes dark as the evening games progress. Like, if a game starts at 4 pm, it would be dark by the 3rd/4th quarter. And there shouldn't be any sunlight for games that start at 7 pm," another fan wrote.
"We getting excited for some s**t that was in Madden 04," this fan said
"This is not what dynamic lighting means.... that's when it gets darker throughout the game, like a game starting in sunlight and ending at night," one fan commented.
EA Sports College Football 26 pays tribute to ex-LSU star Kyren Lacy
EA Sports College Football 26 paid tribute to Kyren Lacy's legacy in a special way. The ex-LSU Tigers star passed away on April 12 in a car accident. Lacy spent three seasons in Baton Rouge under head coach Brian Kelly.
On Sunday, reports stated that EA Sports College Football 26 has added Kyren Lacy's celebration in the game.
Lacy began his collegiate journey with Louisiana in 2020. After two seasons, he transferred to play for the LSU Tigers. In three seasons, the wide receiver put up 1,692 yards and 16 TDs receiving in Baton Rouge. Lacy's funeral was held in Thibodaux, which was attended by several of his teammates and close friends.
