LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne reacts to announcement of “The Money Game” featuring Angel Reese, Jayden Daniels and other Tigers stars

The trailer for the new Amazon Prime Video series, "The Money Game," was released on Thursday, featuring LSU standouts like Livvy Dunne, Angel Reese, Flau’jae Johnson and Jayden Daniels.

Dunne, the gymnast who’s become a top earner thanks to her name, image, and likeness, is at the center of the series. With a staggering valuation of $3.9 million, she’s the highest-paid woman in NIL history. Amazon’s idea to spotlight her journey, along with the stories of other prominent Tigers athletes, is pure genius. She posted a short clip of the trailer, captioned:

In the trailer, Dunne reflected on the pivotal moment in her life:

“July 1, 2021, the NIL rule changed. That’s the day my life changed,” Dunne said.

In the next part of the video, she added:

“The more eyes you got on you, the more people are gonna try to tear you down.”

Produced by LSU alum Shaquille O’Neal, "The Money Game" seems to bring drama and an inside look at the athletes' pressures.

As Dunne acknowledges in the closing moments of the trailer

“I remember saying that I wanted to be done. But winning is addicting.”

This trailer set the stage for the series' release on Sept. 10. It’s one to watch, especially to see if Dunne, Reese and Johnson share their thoughts on the show as it airs.

'The Money Game' documentary deal with LSU

An upcoming documentary, "The Money Game," will shine a light on how NIL deals are changing the game at LSU. The film will include interviews with current and former Tigers stars, giving viewers an inside look at the impact of this new era in college sports.

LSU reportedly received $1 million from the producers, Campfire Film & TV, for its involvement, and the athletes featured were also compensated through NIL agreements.

The documentary isn't just a peek behind the curtain; it's a powerful promotion for LSU athletics. "The Money Game" explores how NIL opportunities are allowing athletes to profit from their brands, fundamentally reshaping college sports.

According to Sportico, LSU had a significant say in how the series is presented. Before any episode is finalized, the school will receive a copy and have at least five business days to offer feedback or raise any concerns.
