Mel Kiper Names Top 10 QB's in College Football right before playoff kickoff

Mel Kiper, ESPN's analyst, has compiled his yearly NFL draft's top picks. He releases this list every year, ranking the players based on his opinion. This list introduces all the good prospects that fans might overlook in the NFL 2025 draft.

Kiper's Top 10 quarterbacks from the country include Shedeur Sanders (Colorado), Cam Ward (Miami), Jalen Milroe (Alabama), Drew Allar (Penn State), Carson Beck (Georgia), Quinn Ewers (Texas), Kurtis Rourke (Indiana), Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss), Dillon Gabriel (Oregon), and Kyle McCord (Syracuse).

Kiper's list looks pretty solid as of now. However, these could change based on the playoff and bowl games in the coming weeks. With Round 1 of the draft beginning on April 24, there is plenty of time for changes in the rankings.

In 2024, Sanders of the Colorado Buffaloes has excelled as a passer, throwing for 3,926 yards, 35 touchdowns, and eight interceptions with an admirable 74.2% completion rate. Despite his accuracy, his QBR of 78.2 (17th nationally) highlights room for growth in high-pressure situations. Colorado finished 9-3, ranking 23rd with him.

Miami Hurricanes' Ward leads statistically with 4,123 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions. His QBR of 88.0 ranks first nationally, making him the most efficient quarterback this season. Ward’s performance has driven Miami’s strong season, but it botched up the last game, thus causing the team to lose its playoff berth.

Milroe of the Alabama Crimson Tide has contributed both as a passer and rusher. With 2,652 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, his QBR of 82.8 (7th) reflects solid passing. However, his 719 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns emphasize his dual-threat capability, critical to Alabama’s offense.

Heading into bowl season, these quarterbacks will face pivotal matchups, where their performances will define their teams’ success and potential changes in projected draft picks.
