"Mommy just stay home": When Coach Prime's ex-wife Pilar Sanders gave insight into son Shilo's protective mindset
Deion and Pilar Sanders have avoided each other since their high-profile divorce in 2015. However, they each share close bonds with their three children, Shedeur, Shilo and Shelomi. Pilar even attends Colorado games to watch Shilo and Shedeur.
During an appearance on the TV series "Second Shot" in June 2022, Pilar opened up on her eldest son Shilo's protective mindset when she had just transitioned into a businesswoman while also working as a fitness model.
"My sons, Shilo in particular, he's like 'Mommy, just stay home, you don't have to do anything,'" Pilar said. "Whenever we even show up to the games, he's like trying to cover me. Like, 'Is anyone looking at your butt or your shape?' And I'm like, Shilo, come on. What are you doing?" (starting at 16:20)
Shilo is currently in his senior year with Colorado. He plays as a safety for the team, while his brother Shedeur is the Buffaloes' starting quarterback. The two brothers are coached by their father, Deion, who is in his second season at Colorado.
This season, the No. 21 Buffaloes (6-2, 4-1 Big 12) have an outside chance of reaching the 12-team College Football Playoff. Both Shilo and Shedeur will have an important few weeks ahead along with Coach Prime.
Meanwhile, Pilar and Deion's youngest child, Shelomi, plays college basketball for the Alamaba A&M women's team.
Pilar and Deion were married from 1999 until their divorce in 2015.
