“Mrs. T the goat”: Detroit Lions’ Terrion Arnold gives seal of approval for Nick Saban’s wife Miss Terry following ESPY Awards 2024

Former Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold gives his approval to Nick Saban's family. On Saturday, the Detroit Lions player posted an excerpt of Nick Saban's speech at this week's ESPYs ceremony on his Instagram story.

The speech received praise from all over the world of sports, as Saban used the opportunity to thank his wife Terry for a lifetime of support for his career. Terrion Arnold added the following commentary:

"Mrs. T the (Goat emoji)"

The excerpt from the coach's speech read:

"Ms. Terry's been the love of my life for 52 years and she has supported me in every way as my family has... There's a lot of sacrifices families make in coaching"

Terrion Arnold was with the Crimson Tide between 2021 and 2023. He was named a Freshman All-American in 2022, a First Team All-SEC, and a First Team All-American selection in 2023. He was picked in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions with the 24th overall pick.

Nick Saban honored with the Icon Award at the 2024 ESPYs

Saban was at the ESPYs ceremony on Thursday to receive the Icon Award, the cherry on top of a legendary coaching career that came to an end earlier this year. He was presented with the award by Mark Ingram and Bryce Young, his first and last Heisman winners. He opened his speech with an anecdote from his father:

“The one thing my dad told me, when I was a young kid in West Virginia, that was the most important part of your character, is to have compassion for other people, people aren’t gonna remember what you say, they’re gonna remember how you made them feel.”

Saban was the head coach at Toledo, Michigan State, LSU, and Alabama. He was also the head coach of the NFL's Miami Dolphins. He won an astonishing seven national titles, one at LSU and six at Alabama. Nick Saban announced his retirement in January after winning his 11th SEC championship and leading the Crimson Tide to the CFP for the last time.
