"Ms. Heisman": CFB fans buzz as Travis Hunter's mom and fiancée Leanna Lenee celebrate Colorado star's win against UCF
Travis Hunter and the Colorado Buffaloes played against the UCF Knights on Saturday in Week 5 of college football. Colorado’s spectacular win did not stop Hunter’s fiancèe, Leanna Lenee, from celebrating in her own way. She was seen lip-syncing to music with the Buff star’s mother.
The Deion Sanders-led squad has been enjoying the fruits of their labor as they bagged a 48-21 win with the help of Hunter, who has quickly become the Heisman favorite of many fans, analysts and Buffs HC as well.
The two-way star sent a stern message after he caught a glorious pass from the Knights’ KJ Jefferson. Hunter was many yards away from the QB but quickly drove right in to intercept the pass and celebrated by hitting the Heisman pose.
The viral TikTok clip that was posted by Leanna features Hunter's mom, Ferrante Edmonds, gained a lot of traction among fans who showered her with comments like:
"Ms. Heisman," one fan said.
"Give Travis the Heisman right nowwwwww 😭💯❤️," another fan said.
"The Mrs. 💕," one fan said.
More fans called for bestowing Hunter with a Heisman Trophy.
"Travis got the right one 💪," one fan said.
"“Get ready with me to watch my fiance win the Heisman,”" another fan said.
"Ur man had a good game," one fan said.
Deion Sanders hesitated to put Travis Hunter in a box
The two-way star has shown versatility and strength at the positions of cornerback and wide receiver. Travis is one of the rare phenomena who has excelled in both positions but his head coach does not want to box him.
When Deion Sanders appeared on Sunday's episode of "Nightcap" with Shannon Sharpe and Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson, Johnson said that he prefers to watch Travis Hunter play as a WR and then asked for Neon Deion's opinion, who said:
"I ain't telling ya nothing," Sanders said. "I'm treating you like a pro scout. You're gonna have to find out on your own. I know the answer." (25:34)
Sanders added that even though Travis Hunter has seen more success as a WR, it does not mean he cannot excel as a CB. Seeing Travis Hunter play as a WR in the pros may present some issues, as many fans would want to see him play as a CB.
It would not be a sight worthy to see if the team's best player was only getting allowed to show his skills on offense, while he can be equally good at a defensive position. Even though Coach Prime does not want to set any limit for his star player, he will eventually have to choose between offensive and defensive duties in the NFL.
