Nebraska Cornhuskers Transfer Portal Tracker 2024-25: List of players leaving Matt Rhule's Cornhuskers 

The Nebraska Cornhuskers had an up-and-down season as they finished the regular season with a 6-6 record, including a 3-6 mark in Big Ten play. Things fell apart after a 5-1 start as they lost five of their final six games.

With the transfer portal now officially open, several players have already announced their intention to change programs.

Here's a closer look at which Nebraska players were among that group, as per 247 Sports.

#1. Daniel Kaelin, Quarterback

Daniel Kaelin joined the Nebraska Cornhuskers as a three-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. He did not see the field during his lone season with the program. Kaelin announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 3 and committed to join the Virginia Cavaliers on Dec. 15.

#2. Gabe Ervin Jr., Running Back

Gabe Ervin Jr. joined Nebraska as a three-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He appeared in 23 games, recording 455 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 109 carries. Ervin Jr. added five receptions for 34 yards. He announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 2.

#3. Ryker Evans, Running Back

Ryker Evans joined the Cornhuskers as an unranked walk-on prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. He did not see the field in his lone season with the program. Evans announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 9.

#4. Malachi Coleman, Wide Receiver

Malachi Coleman joined the Cornhuskers as a four-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He appeared in 12 games, recording eight receptions for 139 yards and one touchdown. Coleman announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Nov. 25.

#5. Dae'vonn Hall, Wide Receiver

Dae'vonn Hall joined Nebraska as a three-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. He did not see the field in his lone season with the program. He announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 9.

#6. Isaiah McMorris, Wide Receiver

Isaiah McMorris joined the Cornhuskers as a three-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. He did not see the field in his lone season with the program. He announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 12.

#7. Arik Gilbert, Tight End

Arik Gilbert initially joined the LSU Tigers as a five-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. He appeared in eight games as a true freshman, recording 35 receptions for 368 yards and two touchdowns. Gilbert joined the Georgia Bulldogs via the transfer portal ahead of the 2021 season.

He appeared in three games during his tenure with the program and hauled in two receptions for 16 yards and a touchdown. Gilbert joined Nebraska via the transfer portal ahead of the 2023 season and did not see the field. He announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 10.

#8. Nate Boerkircher, Tight End

Nate Boerkircher joined the Cornhuskers as an unranked walk-on prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. He appeared in 39 games, recording 19 receptions for 219 yards and one touchdown. Boerkircher announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 12.

#9. AJ Rollins, Tight End

AJ Rollins joined the Cornhuskers as a three-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He appeared in 13 games and did not record any stats. Rollins announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 10.

#10. Jacob Hood, Offensive Tackle

Jacob Hood initially joined the Georgia Bulldogs as a three-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He did not see the field during his lone season with the program. Hood joined Nebraska via the transfer portal ahead of the 2023 season. He appeared in three games. Hood announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 11.

#11. Jimari Butler, Edge Rusher

Jimari Butler joined Nebraska as a three-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. He appeared in 36 games, recording 65 total tackles, 34 of which were solo tackles, 18.0 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and three passes defended. Butler announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 2 and committed to join the LSU Tigers on Dec. 14.

#12. James Williams, Edge Rusher

James Williams initially joined the Iowa Western Community College Reivers as an unranked prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He joined Nebraska via the transfer portal ahead of the 2023 season. Williams appeared in 16 games, recording 18 total tackles, 12 of which were solo tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss and 7.0 sacks. He announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 3.

#13. Kai Wallin, Defensive Lineman

Kai Wallin initially joined the American River Community College Beavers as an unranked prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He joined the Cornhuskers via the transfer portal ahead of the 2023 season. Wallin appeared in 15 games, recording five total tackles, one of which was a solo tackle, 1.0 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks. He announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 9.

#14. Vincent Jackson, Defensive Lineman

Vincent Jackson joined the Cornhuskers as a three-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He appeared in 11 games, recording one total tackle. Jackson announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 2.

#15. Brodie Tagaloa, Defensive Lineman

Brodie Tagaloa joined the Cornhuskers as a three-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He appeared in just one game during his tenure with the program and did not record any stats. Tagaloa announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 9.

#16. Stefon Thompson, Linebacker

Stefon Thompson initially joined the Syracuse Orange as a three-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. He appeared in 36 games during his tenure with the program, recording 172 total tackles, 101 of which were solo tackles, 21.0 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks and four forced fumbles.

Thompson joined the Cornhuskers via the transfer portal ahead of the 2024 season. He appeared in 11 games and recorded 27 total tackles, seven of which were solo tackles, one fumble recovery and two passes defended. Thompson announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 2 and committed to join the Florida State Seminoles on Dec. 14.

#17. Mikai Gbayor, Linebacker

Mikai Gbayor joined Nebraska as a three-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He appeared in 24 games, recording 73 total tackles, 31 of which were solo tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries and three passes defended. Gbayor announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 2 and committed to join the Missouri Tigers on Dec. 16.

#18. Princewill Umanmielen, Linebacker

Princewill Umanmielen joined Nebraska as a four-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He appeared in 23 games, recording 35 total tackles, 15 of which were solo tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and one pass defended. Umanmielen announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 3 and committed to join the Ole Miss Rebels on Dec. 14.

#19. Noah Bustard, Linebacker

Noah Bustard joined Nebraska as an unranked walk-on prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He appeared in just one game, recording two total tackles. Bustard announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 9.

#20. Dwight Bootle II, Cornerback

Dwight Bootle II joined the Cornhuskers as a three-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He appeared in six games, recording two total tackles. He announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 9.

#21. Syncere Safeeullah, Cornerback

Syncere Safeeullah joined the Cornhuskers as a three-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He did not see the field during his tenure with the program. Safeeullah announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Nov. 10.

#22. Koby Bretz, Safety

Koby Bretz joined the Nebraska Cornhuskers as a three-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He has appeared in 16 games, recording six total tackles, four of which were solo tackles, and 1.0 tackles for loss. He announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 13.
