NFL analyst Nate Tice delivers verdict on Shedeur Sanders & Jalen Milroe as he shares his 2025 draft list
NFL analyst Nate Tice has dropped his verdict on some top college football quarterbacks who will enter the 2025 NFL Draft.
Earlier this week, Tice joined NFL writer Charles McDonald to discuss where Colorado's Shedeur Sanders and Alabama's Jalen Milroe could land.
Nate Tice discusses Shedeur Sanders ahead of next year's NFL Draft
On the “Football 301” podcast, Nate Tice said he expects Sanders to go as the third-highest quarterback in next year's draft and as the No. 29 pick.
"Shedeur is my QB3." Tice said. "Sanders, from Colorado has improved. I have to give him credit. Like, his pocket field is so much better.
"Still, not great. His size stuff still worries me. He's 6-foot-1, 196 pounds, an okay athlete. A good arm, not amazing, but a good arm. He can be aggressive, when he has a clean pocket, he can fire it in there. It's just when he has to create I get worried."
Sanders has completed 220 of 300 passes for 2,591 yards and thrown 21 touchdowns, with six interceptions. He also has three rushing touchdowns and has led No. 23 Colorado to a 6-2 record (4-1 in Big 12) thus far.
The Buffs have an outside chance of making the 12-team College Football Playoff this season. However, that depends on how they fare in the closing stages of the regular season.
Nate Tice on Jalen Milroe's potential rank for next year's NFL Draft
Tice also discussed Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, suggesting that the Tide signal-caller could go early in the second round as the No. 35 pick.
"Milroe made a big bump for me," Tice said. "I had him grouped in the mid-40s but I kept watching him. And I've never seen a quarterback throw it past the line of scrimmage more often than him, where he is past the line of scrimmage.
"He is making better decisions. His eyes are going into the right spot. You can really see the offensive coaching influence on him. And it's the classic 'If you make a mistake, make it fast' coaching point. And he's doing that."
Milroe has completed 137 passes of 203 attempts for 1,937 yards and thrown 13 touchdowns, with six interceptions thus far. He has also rushed for 380 yards on 102 carries for 12 touchdowns across eight games, leading No. 14 Alabama to a 6-2 overall record (3-2 in SEC).
