NFL insider gives insight on Quinn Ewers' "explosive" talent and deep ball accuracy that makes him one to watch

Quinn Ewers is generating great buzz ahead of the 2024 college football season. NFL insider and former scout Daniel Jeremiah shared his thoughts on the polarizing QB, highlighting Ewers' "super twitchy and explosive" throwing ability.

"Quinn Ewers is a fun study. Beautiful deep ball. Once he consistently marries his feet with his eyes, he's going to make a major leap," Jeremiah noted.

Ewers' inconsistency has been a point of criticism, but he has shown improvement under the tutelage of Texas coach Steve Sarkisian. The latter happens to be a specialist in developing QBs.

While Ewers’ completion rate jumped from 58.1% to 69% in 2023, there's still room for refinement, particularly in his footwork and accuracy. Sarkisian has been working with Ewers on enhancing his pocket presence and processing speed.

At the Manning Passing Academy, Ewers put everyone in awe with a perfect 60-yard pass during a deep ball challenge. Have a look:

While Ewers continues to fine-tune his game, his talent is undeniable and teams will be keenly observing him ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Quinn Ewers is living the dream at Texas

Not everyone can boast about their dream coming true but that’s not the case with Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers. He enters his third year as the starting QB in college football. Under the guidance of head coach Steve Sarkisian, Ewers has not looked back since arriving from Ohio State in 2022.

At last week's Manning Passing Academy camp, Ewers shared his excitement about leading a prestigious program like Texas.

"It's a dream come true for me," Ewers said. "Grew up in Texas and to be able to put that state name on my chest and play in the orange has been nothing but the best few years of my life.
“I couldn't be more thankful for the university and coach Sark and all the coaches for giving me an opportunity to play at Texas."

The 21-year-old also expressed gratitude towards Sarkisian for keeping faith in his abilities. Sarkisian's extensive experience and success in developing top quarterbacks have been invaluable to Ewers.
