Saban’s legacy now stands alongside Bryant’s, with a statue of Saban already gracing the Walk of Champions. The 72-year-old expressed his gratitude, saying:

"We are humbled that The University of Alabama has honored us with the naming of Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium... Being the leader of the process at Alabama has been the greatest privilege of my life.”

Built around the time of The Great Depression in 1929 by then-Alabama president George Hutcheson "Mike" Denny, the field was initially named Denny Field. In 1975, it incorporated the name of coach Paul "Bear" Bryant.
