Ohio State transfer Dallan Hayden makes bold comparisons between Shedeur Sanders and Texans QB C.J Stroud

Colorado Buffaloes new running back Dallan Hayden shared some unique thoughts in front of the media on Friday. The Ohio State transfer, who played with former Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud in 2022, compared him to Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders on how they handle the business side of things.

"Him (Sanders) and C.J. (Stroud) emulate each other. Both are business-oriented when it comes to the game. Both are very smart quarterbacks and great teammates. They encourage you," Hayden said.

Coach Prime’s son started his career in the NIL era and boasts numerous partnerships with top brands such as Nike, Gatorade, and Beats by Dre, among others. The 22-year-old is the highest NIL-valuation player at $4.8 million as per On3.

Looking at on-field comparisons, Stroud’s last season at Ohio State in 2022 saw him recording 3,688 passing yards and 41 TDs. Shedeur on the other hand recorded 3,230 yards with 27 TDs in the 2023 college football season.

This coming season will probably be Shedeur’s last at Colorado with Deion Sanders already announcing that his son will transition to the NFL in 2025. Projected as a top-five pick in next year's draft, Sanders will aim to mirror Stroud's success, who was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in his first season with the Houston Texans.

Shedeur Sanders enhances NIL portfolio with podcast launch

The Colorado QB aims to increase the scope of his NIL portfolio by launching his new podcast, "2 Legendary." Partnering with Overtime, Sanders dropped the first episode on Tuesday. The podcast plays off his SS2Legendary merchandise line, named after his brand and jersey number.

Shedeur Sanders has been maximizing his NIL opportunities, also boasting deals with giants like Google, Urban Outfitters, and EA Sports. He even has his signature barbecue sauce and serves as a long-term ambassador for the BRADY brand. It also helps that he has over 2.5 million followers on social media.

However, what would help skyrocket his portfolio further is Colorado performing better this season as the Buffaloes only had a 4-8 record last year.
