Ohio State vs. Penn State game summary

The Nittany Lions drew first blood with a field goal to cap off their 14-play, 61-yard opening drive, taking a 3-0 lead with under seven minutes left in the first quarter.

After taking a Will Howard pick-six, the Buckeyes answered with a touchdown pass to Emeka Egbuka on the back of a seven-play, 74-yard drive to bring the score to 10-7 with two minutes on the clock in the first quarter.

Minutes into the second quarter, Ohio State scored with another passing touchdown from Howard to take a 14-10 lead after forcing a punt. Ohio State grabbed a goalline interception to maintain a 14-10 lead heading into the locker rooms.

Ohio State drew first blood in the second half, capping off an eight-play, 47-yard drive with a 46-yard field goal. Penn State answered with a field goal of their own after a nine-play, 49-yard drive.

In a defensive-led third quarter, both teams mustered just a field goal apiece, taking a 17-13 score into the final period. After drilling a field goal, Ohio State held on to their 20-13 lead with a strong defensive effort in the final period.
