Oklahoma star Billy Bowman Jr.’s fiancée steps into SEC in style via loved-up snaps with Sooners QB in Week 1
Billy Bowman Jr. and the Oklahoma Sooners played their first game as a member of the Southeastern Conference against the Temple Owls on Friday. The Sooners won the game 51-3.
The safety trio of the team, including Peyton Bowmen, Robert Spears-Jennings and Bowman, was always around the ball, never letting Temple get a hold of it. Bowman rose as the most versatile player out of the two.
To celebrate the victory of her fiancé, Jayda Coleman shared a series of romantic snaps from the game. In one of the pictures, she could be seen carried by Bowman in his arms, while in others she was seen posing with her friends in a sequinned red top and denim shorts. The caption of the post was:
"Hello SEC✨"
Bowman proposed to Jayda, a four-time national champion for the Oklahoma City Spark of the Association of Fastpitch Professionals, on Jan. 1. Coleman has also played for the United States at the 2019 U-19 Women's Softball World Cup and the USA Softball International Cup.
Billy Bowman Jr.'s father talked about his rise from a flag football player to college star athlete
Bowman believed that he had some unfinished business to attend to in Norman. This is why he came back for another year of college football this season. Talking about his experience, Billy Bowman Jr. said, as per News On 6:
“Why rush the next stage of my life? It's going to be there. So coming back, having this time to spend with my teammates and things like that, it's why I came back.”
His father talked about his interest in flag football as a four-year-old and how his son used to implore him to watch highlight reels with him.
"Just seeing him going out and enjoying it, that's- excuse me," Billy Bowman Sr. said, holding back tears. "Just his passion. His ambition. His love for it. That is what excites me because he is having fun. He absolutely LOVES the game."
Bowman Jr. will continue to find positions where he can be helpful and impactful to his team, which is in its debut season in the SEC this year.
