Oregon TE Terrance Ferguson drops romantic comment on fiancé Sophia Meyer's snaps from 'the best day ever': "Best decision of my life"
Oregon Ducks tight end Terrance Ferguson proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Sophia Meyer, in July 2024. The couple shared scenic pictures from their special day.
Meyer is still reveling in the beauty of her perfect proposal, as she uploaded a series of black-and-white images from her engagement and bachelorette party.
Terrence Ferguson commented on the post and wrote:
"Best decision of my life"
Ferguson proposed to his to-be wife with a radiant-diamond cut engagement ring with a pave side stone band. They also posed with their pet dogs, Obi and Orso. After her big proposal, the couple enjoyed an engagement party with their friends and family members.
Terrance Ferguson and Sophia Meyer were high school sweethearts
Terrance and Sophia have known each other since their high school days. The Oregon TE attended Heritage High School in Colorado, while Meyer attended a different school that was situated in a nearby town.
The couple made their relationship Instagram official in June 2021 with the caption:
"My ❤️"
As per her Instagram pictures, she played high school basketball at Regis Jesuit High School Girls Division.
Sophia also always attends the Oregon Ducks game to support her fiancé, who will be one of the favorite targets of QB Dillon Gabriel.
Ferguson was included on the preseason watch list for the 2024 John Mackey Award, which annually recognizes college football's best tight ends. If the TE wins the award, he will be making history, as no Ducks player has won this title.
Terrance Ferguson is also on the verge of breaking the Oregon record for most receptions by a tight end. He needs 33 catches to surpass the 124 receptions mark set by Ed Dickson.
Additionally, with 13 career touchdowns in receptions, Ferguson is tied for the third-most by an Oregon tight end, just two touchdowns shy of the program record of 15, held by Josh Wilcox.
The Oregon Ducks TE did not declare for the 2024 NFL Draft because he wanted to play in his senior year.
“I wanted to win something here that meant something. I wanted to be a part of something special, and with coach (Dan) Lanning and my (position) coach (Drew Mehringer), it’s special," said Ferguson as per OregonLive.
