“Overdone” “Who is he”: CFB fans left unimpressed with this week’s ESPN College GameDay guest picker

On Thursday, ESPN's College GameDay announced that comedian and actor Keegan-Michael Key will be the guest picker on the show for Week 10 of the 2024 season. While there was a mixed reaction to the news on social media, many expressed their displeasure at the decision.

Some felt that Key's addition to the panel at Penn State's campus in University Park would be a bit exaggerated and unnecessary.

"Overdone!!!" one wrote.
"We already had an unfunny guest a few weeks ago in Eugene," added another.
"Not again. Was there literally no one else?" a third commented.

Some who weren't aware of Key and his work were also left quite puzzled by the choice, while many others didn't approve of him getting ready to join the panel.

"Who is he?" asked a user.
"L pick. Soooo many better options. Get Muth in there. He’s on bye," tweeted one.
"Booooo! Thumbs down," another added.
"So many other good options...." a fan wrote.

Key, a Penn State alumnus, will join the ESPN crew in predicting the games' outcomes while offering his take on the Week 10 matchups.
