Paul Finebaum blasts Deion Sanders’ son Shedeur Sanders over viral Super Bowl comments: “You’re an easy win”

Deion Sanders' Colorado has been facing scrutiny since the 2023 college football season. The Buffaloes started on a high, with electrifying back-to-back wins against TCU, Nebraska and Colorado State. However, their winning streak was put to an end by Dan Lanning's oregon following a disappointing 42-6 loss in week 3.

After that, it was a slippery slope for Deion Sanders' team, as they lost seven of eight games and ended the season with a 4-8 record. Despite immense support from fans and celebrities like Lil Wayne and Dwayne The Rock Johnson, Sanders' team has been facing excrutiating scrutiny from many.

During the 2024 SEC Media Day 1, college football analyst Paul Finebaum spoke about Colorado's chances of making the college football playoffs.

"Anyone asking whether Deion Sanders and Colorado are close to the playoffs, simply doesn't understand the reality of the road they're not going to the playoffs this year, and I'm not sure Deion Sanders is ever going to get them to the playoffs because I don't think he has the patience to stick to Colorado long enough. There's so many misconceptions out there.
"I heard Shedeur Sanders say last week, "we are everyone's Super Bowl." Shedeur, you are not. You are an easy win nowadays. You got off to a phenomenal start last year, beating a couple of mediocre teams that had big names, and quite frankly, you haven't done anything since other than crash and burn. So I know that the media loves this story. We fall all over ourselves, but Colorado isn't important in college football.

Deion Sanders' plan for 2024 college football season

Sanders has been making efforts to address the problems the team faced last year, and the biggest one was the offensive line. In 2023, Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders got sacked more than 50 times in total, which is way more than other quarterbacks.

For context, Oregon's Bo Nix got sacked just six times. To solve the issue, Sanders has made an effort to get Shedeur a whole new offensive line, including talent powerhouses like five-star Jordan Seaton, UTEP transfer Justin Mayers and Indiana transfer Kahlil Benson, who was their starting right tackle for a total of 12 games in 2023.

Sanders has also brought in a plethora of NFL talent to Colorado's coaching staff, including Hall of Famers Warren Sapp, Robert Livingston and Pat Shurmur.

Fans will be interested to see if Deion Sanders' revamped roster can help the Colorado team surpass their 4-8 record and potentially make it to a bowl game.
